The Environment, Development and Infrastructure Committee today (20 March) took the decision not to proceed with a new Waste Transfer Station, in Helensburgh, saving £3m.

The Environment, Development and Infrastructure Committee agreed at today’s meeting (20 March) to endorse a £10m �鶹���� of work to improve �鶹���� and Bute’s roads and support recovery work resulting from Storm Eowyn.

Work will start this week to restore the shopfront of the former M&Co building in Dunoon to its former glory.

The Scottish and UK governments have signed a £70 million investment �鶹���� with �鶹���� and Bute Council to deliver vital economic growth for the area.

At the recent �鶹���� Services Committee, Councillors heard from just some of the young people who have been instrumental in helping to shape the way they learn and develop. Children from Colgrain Primary School gave a presentation about their involvement in helping to inform a revised education strategy and vision, along with young people from across �鶹���� and Bute.

Increased educational benefits, new contemporary accessible community facilities and long term economic benefits to the island were at the heart of the decision to name Tobermory South as the preferred site for a new £43 million 2-18 campus.

�鶹���� and Bute Council has reaffirmed its commitment to raising attainment and delivering positive outcomes for Care Experienced Children and Young People (CECYP) across �鶹���� and Bute in the coming year.

Following a consultation with communities and children, councillors have approved a proposal to rezone the catchment area for Dalmally Primary School.
